Well been back for a week. Lol

Anyway. That trip.

Well we departed on Thursday and spent the night at a family friends' house in Bluefield, WVa.

Slept well and the next day we were back on the road. I slept a little bit until we were practically in Charleston. I listened to some stuff on my ipod until we got to Mamaw's house.
When we got there I saw that she did some rearranging in the living room.
The couches were switched around. And there was a television inside a cabinet. Nice. =3
And there was this table that was made like some sort of memorial to Papaw. His glasses, American flag from the funeral, and other things were there. I almost started crying.

It was nice to see Sam (the dog) and Penelope. (the MALE cat)
We also learned that there's been stray cats about the neighborhood that Mamaw feeds. One of them was getting ready to have kittens! But they were a bit skittish. But cute.

We had a late lunch/early dinner. Pizza Hut courtesy of my Aunt Gwen and her beau Tim. (not Tim Hodge duh x3)

Later I went to the backyard. Tim was shooting arrows to prepare for to go turkey hunting in the woods.  I wanted to try to shoot the arrow, but it was too hard to pull back, even with dad's help. And after that it was time to burn some brush and old rotten logs. Basically a bonfire. I was really nice because it was so chilly and windy up there. And thanks to Aunt Gwen, I got to have my first REAL s'mores. AND THEY WERE DELICIOUS! Dad says I'm addicted. X3
Anyway, after that I went to bed. I ended up having to take the battery out of this clock that hangs over the bed I sleep in so that I COULD sleep. I can't sleep with a constant tick tick ticking.

The next day was nice. Mostly just hung out. Had leftover pizza for lunch. And... Mamaw wanted to take this vase of roses, hang it on a shepherd's hook, and take it over to Papaw's grave. So I tagged along. We went to the cemetery where the funeral was held last year. I never saw where he was buried last year. But his grave marker is nice. It's a really nice cemetery. I helped set up the flowers and stuff for Papaw's grave and it looked beautiful. Poor Mamaw, she started crying when we were done. I don't blame her. But it broke my heart seeing her so sad. I took a couple of pictures, which I will not be posting because, well Mamaw doesn't want that.

We went back to the house and had our Easter dinner early. We'd be on the road on Easter so it made sense to have it then. I took a couple of walks around the neighborhood so I could stay active. I also got to meet my second cousin Colten, son of my cousin Josh. Colten's a really cute kid! I also got to see my cousins Josh and Anthony(not at the same time) and I watched Tanked later that night before bed. I love that show.

Easter Sunday, we got up early to get to the sunrise service which would be held at, of all places, the same cemetery we were at the previous day.
IT WAS FREAKING COLD! I ended up wearing jeans, a shirt, a jacket, and tennis shoes! Oh well. I saw one person with pajama bottoms. The service itself was great. It was a bit cloudy so it was hard to see the actual sunrise. The service took place in front of this huge statue of Jesus Christ. I'll post a couple pictures of that.

This young pastor Josh, he talked about how, like the apostles, we can be promise forgetters.
Forgetting what God promised us. Unfortunately the rest of the sermon is a bit faint in my head as of now, but I'll try to keep what he said to heart.

We ate at Golden Corral for breakfast after the service. Such a delicious waffle!  Also had eggs and salsa. HOT SALSA! And I got to dunk a strawberry in the Chocolate Wonderfall. Every time I see that thing, I'm like this.

After that we went back to the house and...I took a nap! Come on, we were up since 5-something in the morning. Anyway, mom surprised me and my brother with EASTER BAGS as opposed to baskets. We got candy and movies. I got Kiki's Delivery Service! But it was a new heavily edited version. They kept the original dialogue from the 1996 version with the same voice actors. But there were bits of dialogue missing, (especially from Jiji the black cat) music was changed, there were even scenes where there was no background music at all. See they re-edited the movie to make it more true to the original version in Japan. Even the opening and closing music numbers were the original Japanese songs. Still, I was accustomed to the 1996 dub of the movie. But what are you gonna do? lol

We left Mamaw's in the afternoon. She cried again as we were leaving. Another heartbreaking moment. It was an uneventful drive. We stopped at the Dairy Queen for our ACTUAL Easter dinner. I love me those hot fudge sundaes!

We got home around 9-ish I believe, and that was that. Great trip. I'm just glad I didn't get carsick!
