Been a while, ain't it? I'm just gonna get to the nitty gritty. My neighbor Larry, the one who was stricken with cancer and that aneurysm passed away on New Years Eve. He was a good neighbor, friend to my family (especially Dad), a good husband to his wife, Ida, and a good guy. I'm glad I got to see him once more before it happened. It was after my last public speaking class, and I was on my way home. I saw Ida out front and went to say hi. I also got to see Larry too and I gave him some leftover cookies I had baked for the last class. I'm glad he liked em.
And much more recent...
My dog, Baby, passed away yesterday morning. Lately she's been pretty slow and sluggish, and given her age among other things, we knew it was coming. It's still a bit of a shock because that morning, I had helped her get outside to go to the bathroom since she was having trouble walking on a slippery floor. Afterwards, she just decided to just lay on the ground for a while. After about a half hour, I helped her get her to her little rug bed we made for her in the kitchen. I went into my room to chill and get ready for class. I was making up my bed when mom came in and said "I think Baby's gone" in a soft voice. I went in the kitchen, and there she was... lifeless on her mat. I couldn't believe it. I knew it was coming but I still had hoped she'd stick around a little longer. My Baby... I cried for a good while, and it's still hard to fight back tears.
She lived to be 14 years old.
It's weird now. Larry and his wife, Ida were the first people we met since we moved to this street. And now he's gone. And this is the first time since I was 6 years old that I haven't had a dog. I miss her a bunch, ya know. And I miss Larry too.
I'll be making a tribute pic to all three of my dogs: Max, Bo, and Baby.
That's all for now. Catch ya later and God bless.
